To the democratic movements of the World

During the week, demonstrations against the Iranian regime have spread to all regions of the country, and so far, more than 70 people have died, most of whom are Kurds.

The unrest and protests continued after 22-year-old Kurdish woman Jina Amini was tortured to death by the country’s morality police for the “crime” of improperly wearing the veil.

Since the Islamic regime took power in Iran more than 40 years ago, the country’s situation has only worsened. Islamic Sharia law forms the basis of Iran’s legal system, and citizens can be arbitrarily detained and prosecuted without being informed of what they are accused of.

We support all the brave men and women who protest and risk their lives when they take to the streets and squares and fight for their freedom.

For the Kurdish people, the repression is doubled in Iran. They are tortured, executed and murdered because they fight for their right to self-determination and because they, together with other ethnic groups in Iran, want to live in democracy and freedom.

The Kurdish Diaspora Confederation condemns the Islamic dictatorship regime in Iran and supports the Kurdish people and other ethnic groups in the struggle for democracy and freedom.

Long live the Kurdish people’s struggle for self-determination, and Long live the Iranian people’s struggle for democracy and freedom. Down with the dictatorship regime in Iran.
